The bachelor is single and
FREE!
The thought of committing to someone, just one woman, and
staying
stuck with her for life scares many bachelors. The
average bachelor is scared of commitment. And so are you.
The bachelor is a free single man or single woman. The bachelor has
little worries. The bachelor has very little concerns. He goes out
whenever and wherever. He hangs out with friends, visits whoever he
wishes and generally relates with the opposite sex on a personal level.
He may have a favorite but he is generally with everyone and he is
everyone's friend. The bachelor is a free-for-all friend and he kind of
likes it.
Can you imagine the freedom with which birds fly the skies?
That is how free bachelors feel. The bachelor answers to no one and
does his thing his way. What greater freedom can there be!
The bachelor freedom
The bachelor enjoys being free. The society
plus friends and family understand and let him be.
The reality of life is that life is a
cycle. You get born. You learn to crawl, then walk and run. You go to
elementary school, then high school, and then college. You get a job,
rent a house of your own, settle down and live well. You enjoy your
friends' company. You make new friends. You travel, you mix with people.
You make more friends and have great fun. And you love it. Oh, how you
love it!
Society interferes with
bachelor freedom
You have come of age. Now society expects you to
do the next natural thing. Your family expects you to. Even your
friends expects you to.
What is the next natural thing?
As I said before, life is a cycle. You get born, you
grow up, you enjoy life, then . . . then you die. We all die
eventually. But somewhere between enjoying life and dying, you
do the next natural thing.
The next natural thing is finding someone to love
and share your life with. Someone to enjoy life with, someone you commit
to and stay committed to all your life. Hitherto, you were
everywhere and with everyone. Now you have to be with this one person
all your life.
You find this hard to comprehend. You feel like someone
wants to take away your freedom. You feel like you are up against the
wall and the world is against you.
You cannot give up your
freedom!
You are not alone when you say that. Hilary Johnson felt
exactly the same way. Read his story in
Bachelors' Dilemma.

Bachelors' dilemma - A bachelor's nightmare
Hilary
Johnson was a 'senior bachelor’ - the bachelor - and a hard-line business executive who had
no time for women. Work was his first and last passion. But society wouldn’t let him be.
Wherever he went there was subdued talk and whispers that were short of complementary – whispers that
suggested that he was either sick or outright irresponsible to be a single man at his
age. Pressures came
from friends, relatives and
well-wishers – pressures that almost drove him out of his mind.
The
stage was set, the die cast. He had to find a suitable wife – and fast! So, the search
for the millennium bride began - a compatible single woman (should I say,
single girl) that will make the bachelor a good wife. This was the search of a lifetime – a search
that almost turned into a nightmare. Almost . . ..
